Confirmation Preparation
Confirmation preparation for our current eighth graders began with a parent/student gathering last week. If you have a child in 8th that is not Confrmed and not enrolled in our Saint Vincent de Paul School, attending one of our public schools, please email or give me a call so they can begin the preparation process.
If you, an older teen, or another adult in your family are not Confrmed and would like to be, please reach out. We would be happy to help you prepare to celebrate this beautiful Sacrament of Initiation. This preparation process would be geared toward your individual needs. Rita at rita@stvincentchurch.com
Sacramental Preparation
If you are a baptized Catholic, and in need of celebrating the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist please be sure to reach out. We would be happy to help.
OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults)
For those who may be familiar with the RCIA process, you may be wondering why it’s now called OCIA. There are several reasons. The process of conversion is not about one event or Rite, but rather a lifelong commitment and journey.
While Rites are involved in the process, there is not just one, but several that are experienced. Also, when you consider the word “order” it is defned as: “the particular way that things or events are organized in a list or series.” Order is also about how things are related to one another, so when you think about it, order really is a better way to put it.
With that being said, if you or someone you know is interested in becoming Catholic, let us know! We would love to welcome you and join you on the journey of faith and commitment. We also invite anyone who is already Catholic, but would like to join with us to learn more about the faith. Just like the new wording tells us, our conversion journey is lifelong!
