Altar Society

This organization has many responsibilities but one mission: serve the parish, parishioners and community with both words and action.

Mission

The Altar Society has been an active ministry of St. Vincent Parish since the 1870s. Its primary mission is to provide and care for the sanctuary and altar including linens, flowers and vestments. Members also clean and maintain the sanctuary and sacristy areas. In addition, the Altar Society hosts social events providing opportunities for parishioners to come together in community.

Altar Supplies

We dress and adorn the altar with supplies, flowers, linen and more.

Church

Some of our activities include cleaning the church and beautifying our place of worship.

  • Rectory and buildings

Events

We put on the annual events and a fundraiser, including our weekly and annual lottery, the 300 Club.

Ministry

The Caring Parishioner Program is sponsored by the Altar Society and provides a meal for a family in a time of loss.

  • Frequency 6-12x per year
  • Prepare warm meal
  • Provide comfort and support
